StevensonUniversityis proud to present seven influential and
acclaimed speakers for its 2009-2010Baltimore Speaker Series at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This year’s
series includes such personages as former First
Lady Laura Bush and award-winning actress and humanitarian Mia Farrow. Each evening’s talk is
followed by a question and answer session with the audience. The series will
kick off on Tuesday, September 29, 2009,
with former President of Pakistan Pervez
Musharraf. Stevenson has presented the Baltimore Speaker Series since it
began in 2006.

This
year’s series will begin with Pervez
Musharraf, former President of Pakistan,
on Tuesday September 29, 2009,
starting at 8 p.m. Having played a significant role in the War on Terror,
Musharraf explains his struggle for the security of Pakistan in his memoir, In
the Line of Fire.

featured speakers in the series are: ·Jean-Michel
Cousteau, October 20, 2009: As an explorer, environmentalist, educator, and
documentary film producer, Cousteau communicates his love and concern for our
“water planet.” He is the president of Ocean Futures Society, and travels to
teach, explore, and produce films to reach millions of people around the world. ·Laura
Bush, November 17, 2009: As former First Lady of the United States, Laura Bush has
helped to raise awareness of breast cancer, heart disease, HIV, AIDS, and
malaria. Mrs. Bush is an advocate for global literacy and human rights. ·Robert
Reich, January 12, 2010: Reich has served the Ford, Carter, Clinton, and
Obama administrations and is known as one of the nation’s leading thinkers on
business, labor, and the economy.He has
worked to pass the Retirement Protection Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and
increase the minimum wage during his time as Secretary of Labor. ·Mia
Farrow, February 16, 2010: Starring in more than 40 films, including Rosemary’s Baby and Hannah and Her Sisters, Farrow is a very familiar face in Hollywood. She is an
award-winning actress and a humanitarian, who will explore the experiences that
helped to shape her humanitarian work for UNICEF and in Darfur, Sudan.

keen observer of American life, politics, and foreign policy. He is heard
regularly on The News Hour with Jim

Mortenson, April 27, 2010: His book Three
Cups of Tea spent 91 weeks on The New
York Times bestsellers list. Mortenson is the co-founder of Pennies for
Peace, as well as the Central Asia Institute, which has built nearly 80 schools
for 18,000 girls in Pakistan
and Afghanistan.
