Stevenson University will welcome veteran designer Kyle Cooper to campus in September as the semester’s Artist-in-Residence.
Cooper is known for his title sequences in more than 150 feature films. Some of his credits include “Across the Universe,” “Spider-Man 3,” “Bridge to Terabithia,” and “Flubber.” He also created the logo for the Marvel Comics “Flip Book” which is seen in the opening of the original “Spider-Man.”
On September 18, Cooper will discuss Animation and Titles in conjunction with SU’s film series Movies, Motion & Media. A reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a lecture at 7 p.m.
"Kyle is an internationally recognized title animator for film and TV, and creator of new media graphics. We are excited to have someone of his stature come to work with our students," says Greg Stanley, Assistant Professor of Art.
The event will help kick off the Motion Graphics focus for Stevenson University which begins this fall, a collaboration between the Film, Video, and Theatre and Visual Communications Design departments. Cooper will work with students from both disciplines during his visit.
