Stevenson University Adds Brenda Balzer as Human Resources VP

Stevenson University has hired Brenda Balzer as
Vice President of Human Resources. Previously Director of Human
Resources at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., Balzer
began work at Stevenson U. on Dec. 3.
“Brenda brings the significant breadth
of experience our growing University demands,” says Stevenson U. President
Kevin J. Manning, Ph.D. “She will provide the leadership, expertise,
and perspective needed for our employees, as we expand to serve our
students and the community.”
“I am enthused about joining Stevenson U.
and working with faculty and staff to become the employer of choice,”
says Brenda. “I am looking forward to joining the HR team and working
on programs and initiatives that will support the SU mission and
goals.”
At Wake Forest, Balzer was charged with
directing all HR activities for the institution and its affiliate, the
Reynolda House Museum of American Art. She worked previously at
Colorado College, Colorado National Bankshares, Inc., and Pikes Peak
Mental Health Center – all in human resources functions.
Balzer earned her bachelor’s in
psychology, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Hawaii. She is a
member of numerous professional groups and boards such as the Society
for Human Resource Management, where she is a national member, the
College and University Professional Association for Human Resources,
and World at Work.
Balzer is a resident of Owings Mills.
