Stevenson University Nursing Director to Speak at Harvard Event

Stevenson University Nursing Division Director Judith A. Feustle, ScD, RN,
will take part in a presentation at a conference sponsored by an
affiliate of Harvard University. "Education and Practice: A Tapestry of
Change and Challenge for Executive Nurse Leaders" will take place June
11-13 in Cambridge, Mass. Feustle will speak along with Robert
Murray, Executive Director of the Health Services Cost Review
Commission, on "Statewide Initiatives are: The Nursing Shortage, The
Maryland Experience" during the June 11 morning session. The
conference is sponsored by The Institute for Nursing Healthcare
Leadership, a consortium of Harvard-affiliated hospital nursing
services, and the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Nursing
Outcomes Research. More than 400 students are enrolled in the
traditional and accelerated undergraduate nursing programs at Stevenson
U. In addition to a traditional bachelor of science in nursing, the
University offers accelerated degree programs for registered nurses or
adults seeking to change careers to nursing. Stevenson U. has
taken a leadership role in working to solve the nursing crisis.
Currently, the University has agreements with seven community colleges
across the state for RN-to-BS degree candidates. Over the past 18
months, Stevenson U. has received more than $1.2 million in external
funds to expand nursing education.
