Stevenson University Nursing Division Director Judith A. Feustle, ScD, RN, will take part in a presentation at a conference sponsored by an affiliate of Harvard University. "Education and Practice: A Tapestry of Change and Challenge for Executive Nurse Leaders" will take place June 11-13 in Cambridge, Mass.

Feustle will speak along with Robert Murray, Executive Director of the Health Services Cost Review Commission, on "Statewide Initiatives are: The Nursing Shortage, The Maryland Experience" during the June 11 morning session.

The conference is sponsored by The Institute for Nursing Healthcare Leadership, a consortium of Harvard-affiliated hospital nursing services, and the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Nursing Outcomes Research.

More than 400 students are enrolled in the traditional and accelerated undergraduate nursing programs at Stevenson U. In addition to a traditional bachelor of science in nursing, the University offers accelerated degree programs for registered nurses or adults seeking to change careers to nursing.

Stevenson U. has taken a leadership role in working to solve the nursing crisis. Currently, the University has agreements with seven community colleges across the state for RN-to-BS degree candidates. Over the past 18 months, Stevenson U. has received more than $1.2 million in external funds to expand nursing education.
