September 28, 2005

< < BACK

VillaFest, the annual homecoming celebration at Villa Julie College, will be “bigger and better than ever” in 2005. The college has combined VillaFest with Family Day for a weekend of fun Oct. 21-22. The highlight will be an interactive comedy show featuring Whose Line is it Anyway? stars Greg Proops and Chip Esten on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

VillaFest, sponsored by Smart and Associates, LLP,  officially starts the night of Friday, Oct. 21 , with an alumni happy hour, the annual Haunted Trail and Bonfire and Midnight Madness, featuring alumni basketball games and the unveiling of the 2005-2006 Villa Julie basketball teams. All events on Friday will take place at the Stevenson campus.

On Saturday, VillaFest will continue at both the Stevenson and Owings Mills campuses with activities such as a hayride and corn maze, kids activities, “Classes without Quizzes,” several athletic events, and plenty of food and music. There will also be a reading by VJC English faculty member Gerald Majer, author of the recently published The Velvet Lounge: On Late Chicago Jazz, and a performance by the Saint Veronica's Youth Steel Drum Orchestra.

The day will wind down to an end with the Whose Line is it Anyway? show at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 before Oct. 15 and $20 at the door, and can be reserved by calling 443-334-2296. For more information on VillaFest, visit http://web.vjc.edu/alumni/ .
